This article is dedicated to walking you through the differences between the Shopify store's Payout currency and the Shopify store's currency. Understanding this is a major step to define what are the needed currencies list to be configured on your ClickPay Merchant Profile.
To accept payments with multiple currencies, you will need just to send an email to ([email protected]) requesting to add the list of currencies you desire to add, mentioning your profile id along with the country your business operates in.
The approval is subjected to the acquirer bank approval.
Payout currency
This implies the primary currency used for all online payment transactions. In other words, this is the currency that your payment will be initiated and charged to. It is worth mentioning that for multiple store views, the scope of the price must be set in the Catalog configuration.
Store currency
This implies the primary currency that is used to display prices on your system checkout/products page. This will NOT be the currency your customer will be charged with.
In the case that the bank account of the customer is not in the same as your base currency, the issuer bank related to the cardholder will manage/handle to charge him with the equivalent amount of your base currency amount from his account.
Allowed Currencies
This implies the currencies that are accepted in your Shopify store for accepting payments from your customers.
